Sweepstakes Management System

The advertising company, Maxxon Reklam has been running sweepstakes for major brands for over a decade, primarily in Hungary but also in other European markets. They work with Chio, Mogyi, Aldi, and similar brands: the classic "buy a product, submit your receipt details, and win daily, weekly, or grand prizes" type of games that almost everyone recognizes. Maxxon Reklam has run close to 1,500 campaigns to date.

Over 14 years, they've developed a lot of well-established processes — the problem was that these were still handled manually, or with an old system that only covered a slice of the workflow. Launching a new campaign always went down the same bumpy road: design mockups were created and approved by the client, someone coded the landing page, incoming entries were managed in a hard-to-navigate admin panel, and winner selection, participant communication, and analytics were each their own separate workflow. Exactly the kind of process that looks simple on paper but is actually made up of dozens of small, time-consuming steps — which made it a perfect candidate for automation.

One System, Three Views

Hellobrand brought this fragmented process under one platform, with our team's help.

The system is logically structured across three levels: partner (Maxxon Reklam's client, e.g. a brand's parent company) → brand → campaign. A partner can have multiple brands, and a brand can run multiple campaigns — so there's no need to keep track of a dozen different accounts, and settings can be configured at the brand level.

If a brand runs campaigns regularly, analytics trackers or the sender email address only need to be set up once, at the brand level, instead of being reconfigured for every single campaign.

This structure comes with three user-facing views:

Partner Portal

Maxxon Reklam's clients can log in and follow the status and core stats of their brands and campaigns live, and even preview the design before a campaign goes live. Previously, this meant sending files and links back and forth by email — now it's all available in one place, in real time.

End-User Pages

Every campaign has its own landing-page-style microsite that explains the rules of the game and collects submitted entries. These are the pages everyday users actually interact with — nyerjamogyival.hu and mannerjatek.hu are both live examples running right now.

Admin Panel

This is the heart of the system, where Maxxon Reklám's operators work day to day.

Partner Management

Partners can invite partner users, who then get access to their own portal.

Brand Management

Brand-level settings — analytics, communication email address — that don't need to be reconfigured for every campaign.

Campaign Management

This is home to arguably the most important piece of the system:

The landing page builder

A no-code, drag-and-drop page editor. It lets teams assemble full campaign pages, built from the similar blocks that make up most Hellobrand campaigns, in just a few clicks — complete with subpages and SEO settings. Blocks can be freely customized to match each campaign's branding.

The builder's most critical block is the entry form itself, through which players submit their entries — we paid particular attention to designing this part, since it's the point where the end user actually interacts with the campaign.

Since most campaign pages follow a very similar structure, in practice the team rarely builds from scratch — they duplicate an existing page instead. Previously, even a simple copy meant going through the whole process again: new page code, uploading to the server, configuration. With Hellobrand, that's now down to setting a few DNS records, and editing requires no technical knowledge at all.

Managing Drawings and Winners

Drawing winners isn't a one-size-fits-all process either: depending on the campaign's needs, teams can choose from several different drawing mechanics. Alongside the classic timestamp-based method, there's also a notary-certified drawing option, plus configurable logic like "every Xth entry wins" or "first N entries win." In some campaigns, players can even choose which prize they'd like to win from the available options — for example, if the daily prize could be a mug or a keychain, they can decide which one they want right when they submit their entry.

Communication

Admins put together winner notifications and other communication emails using a template language, so every message can be personalized.

The system runs on several email triggers — events that automatically fire off an email — such as a notification sent after a winner is drawn, confirmation of a successful entry submission, or a reminder to upload a receipt. Communication also isn't tied to one central address: every brand, and even every campaign, can set its own sender email, which further reinforces that brand's identity.

Hellobrand — Still in Development

The web app is still under active development, but live campaigns are already running on it — the system is built on Next.js, Supabase, TypeScript, and Effect-TS.

A loyalty program is also in the works, designed to build long-term brand loyalty: brands will be able to guarantee rewards to users after they upload a receipt. The loyalty program will be a Hellobrand subsystem, connectable per brand, and will be built on top of Hellobrand itself. Also in progress is the integration of the Magyaranyero API, which will be needed for participation in sweepstakes carrying the MAGYAR TERMEK trademark.

One technical detail worth mentioning: every campaign automatically ceases to exist in the system 70 days after it closes — along with its landing page and link. Right now, for example, the nyerjamogyival.hu and mannerjatek.hu campaigns are both live and will remain accessible until roughly the end of November, after which their links will stop working too.

This Was a Deliberate Choice.

Security

Handling player data was a key focus during development: every piece of data can be deleted both automatically and manually. Campaigns often involve sensitive, GDPR-covered data, so it doesn't make sense for the system to store and keep a closed, no-longer-relevant page live indefinitely. That's why every campaign is automatically shut down 70 days after it closes — along with its landing page and link.

This means Maxxon Reklam's team never has to manually clean up old campaigns — the system takes care of it automatically.

Before going live, the program also went through an ethical hacker audit, to make sure no security gaps were left behind.
