How we transformed the FansBRANDS Shopify store into a profitable mobile app - over 3,000 downloads in 90 days!
The key to success? A fully custom app in 11 languages, supercharged with premium features to drive downloads and sales.
The numbers speak for themselves: users view 4.2x more products per session in mobile apps than on the web. That leads to 1.9x higher conversion rates and a 20% bump in average order value compared to e-commerce stores. Makes sense, right?
One of the biggest drivers of downloads and in-app purchases? The classic lead magnet: the Wheel of Fortune.
Let’s be real, who doesn’t love a quick game, especially when every spin wins?
Here’s how it works: right after downloading the app, users get one spin to win either 5%, 10%, or 20% off. But here’s the catch: they’ve got just 2 hours to use it, and only through the app. With that time limit, we took advantage of the sense of urgency.
So with one simple spin, we hit two birds with one stone: boosted app downloads and immediate purchases, while training users to shop inside the app. Smart, right?
Let’s be honest - most website pop-ups are annoying. You probably close them without even thinking. So for FansBRANDS, we added a few clever twists to make theirs actually work:
The result of this sophisticated pop-up? A smooth user experience and over 1,000 app downloads in the first 20 days alone.
Like we said, this is a fully done-for-you service. Our goal? Apps that don’t just work—they sell like they’re on steroids. FansBRANDS came with a few special requests. Naturally, we made it all happen. Customized, top to bottom.
This wasn’t so obvious as it might sound. Fansbrands.com, fansbrands.de, fansbrands.es, fansbrands.hu… all separate domains. But we wanted one app that adapts automatically to each user’s language.
The solution? A single app in the App Store and Google Play that runs in 11 languages. After download, it detects the user’s country and displays everything—push notifications, features, the full experience—in their language (or English by default).
When someone downloads the app, they fill out a short onboarding form, like choosing their favorite team and racer. From there, they’re dropped into a super-targeted email flow.
But that’s just the beginning. Thanks to this data and the custom push notification feature, FansBRANDS can send ultra-relevant push notifications, too.
In our solution, the client can segment push notification sending according to different aspects. This enables them to take advantage of even more targeted notifications than in the case of the email newsletters.
Any combination works.
Here's an example: Let's say Ferrari and Leclerc win the weekend's Grand Prix, and FansBRANDS immediately sends a push notification to those who chose them. What happens next? These users are highly likely to click on the message and order a Leclerc t-shirt or a Ferrari cap — because the offer is timely and personal.
In the e-commerce store, users rely on their browser’s back button. But in an app, we needed another solution.
To make navigation easy, we added a “back” button on the product pages, so users can quickly return to the product list. Small feature, big impact.
Here’s the bottom line. FansBRANDS started with a Shopify store spread across 11 domains.
We converted that into one powerful mobile app - on both iOS and Android - available in 11 languages.
With premium features like:
…we built a system that keeps delivering. One investment, continuous results.
